Mississippi Sun Garden

Location:  MSU Lee County Extension Office,  5338 Cliff Gookin Blvd.; Tupelo, MS         

The Mississippi Sun Garden and other gardens located on the Lee County Extension Service premises are open to the public.  This garden offers homeowners ideas for their gardens and features both perennials and annual flowers that thrive in sun or part shade and are tolerant of dry conditions.  

Garden Features:  Visitors are encouraged to notice the following garden features and to visualize new uses of these ideas in their home gardens.  
1.  Flower placement, heights, colors, spacing and textures 
2.  Grouping of flowers on raised beds for good water percolation
3.  Plant labels--painted stone
4.  Pathway construction--natural gravel, flagstone, and field stones
​5.  Watering system--above-ground trenches and underground drainage pipes
